Imagine...

Imagine that moment. That exact moment when someone you would choose unequivocally, chooses you too. No bullshit, no doubts, no confusions. Just pure decision. Is that moment going to be everything you needed? What if it is delayed but came exactly when you needed it? Would that work? Could you heal your bruised heart and ego enough to truly appreciate what life’s giving you?

Or do you stand back and ask yourself if the person you had chosen was right for you, they wouldn’t have to choose at all? That being with you couldn’t have been a choice, it would’ve had to be the only way forward. Or is that utopian? Almost, a fairytale like reality that social media and pop culture has made us believe exists? Are human decisions ever that simple or black and white?

Shouldn’t they be, though? Shouldn’t the decision to be with someone be the easiest decision you make? Wouldn’t the peripheral complications you build up in your head, just be things you work through as a couple? At what point in your life does fighting for someone become a fight against the inevitable - something you know in your heart but refuse to accept because you actually believe in this version of your happy ending?
